I have discovered there is more to life, and it was worth every challenge—even the near-death kind—to get here.
Running a coaching business that helps professional women get unstuck and recharged to pursue more fulfilling careers, I’ve reached what I call my soulful summit. I’m living authentically, doing exactly what I am designed to do at this point in my journey.
Below is a snippet of my story and how HerNature came to be.
I would love to learn how your journey is going and how I can help you get clear about your authentic career. Schedule your free coaching session here.
Making it through college came easily enough. Figuring out my career path, not so much.
Dad expected me to follow the path of my two older sisters and become a teacher. I imagined something much less conventional. Even back then I wondered why couldn’t my work be more of an adventure than work?
Within the first few years of trial and error employment, I discovered my knack for business and eye for design. Marketing offered a good balance of both, and brand strategy became my focus.
As a brand strategist and marketing director for large organizations, I led national campaigns that produced award-winning results. But at the peak of my corporate career, I became disconnected from my work. “There must be more to life than this,” I thought.
It felt like success without soul.
Somewhere along the way, I bought into the idea that my value was equal to the results I produced and the promotions I earned. Work came first. Who I was came last. What I delivered mattered the most.
I was terribly mistaken.
While I seemed happy, earning bigger paychecks for better ROI, I was going through the motions. I kept my work-life separate from my personal life, and I missed countless opportunities to make real connections with colleagues.
I launched a brand consulting side hustle, and within 6 months, I was on my own. The fresh start was invigorating. The work felt challenging.
But then came the real-life challenge that changed all moments to come—a death-defying Jeep wreck in 2017.
Emotionally and physically, I crashed. There were surgeries to reconstruct my right hand, followed by months of painful therapy.
I had no other choice but to reflect on my second chance at life, beyond my career.
Through it all, I have found the kind of success that reflects my intrinsic value as a person—not as some perfect individual, but as the most authentic (and often imperfect) self I am.
It all comes down to this: If you want the freedom to do work you love in a way that fits your life, you must be honest about who you are and what matters most—and create a plan to get there.
Founding HerNature gave me the renewed sense of purpose I was seeking during a pivotal time in my career.
I feel aligned, partnering with professional women through the life-changing framework I’ve personally designed and following my nature in all that I do.
