3 Ideas For How To Celebrate Women’s Day Your Way

I am incredibly grateful for women in history who rose in power and influenced mainstream audiences, in part, from daring to tell their stories and speak up for themselves and others.

While it’s important to speak up and be heard, I also believe it’s okay to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month in your own way. In other words, find an option that’s authentic to you.

We each have different timelines for finding our unique voice.

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁: We each have different timelines for finding our unique voice.

If you don’t feel comfortable, yet, with publicly sharing your thoughts about what you stand for, research female leaders who are speaking up and who align with your core values. Use their words on social media and credit them for their courage.

𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: Connect and build an online network with other professional women who are not exactly like you. They may be from different age groups, industries and ethnicities.

Commit to growing your network intentionally to expand your ideas of how women are stepping out of their comfort zones and leading—and who need your encouragement to keep going.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱: Pick a trending issue about the future of women and work, such as gender bias or the pay gap, and follow females who are leading change in those areas and publishing content about it.

Stay current on how these issues impact women’s ability to rise up and reach our potential. Like, comment and share their news on social media.

In the words of Maya Angelou, “How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!”

Find a way that works for you.

Happy International Women’s Day,
